AMC Global’s client partner New Culture has been hot in the news this New Year! We recently released the New Culture and AMC Global 2024 Market Research Report, “A Cheese Revolution: Unveiling The Appetite For A New Kind Of Mozzarella Among Pizza Lovers,” about our study together regarding a new-to-market, first-of-its-kind, animal-free dairy cheese. We LOVE new product launches here at AMC Global, and we are looking forward to sharing more details about this partnership with you at Greenbook’s IIEX NA in Austin this April.
About the New 2024 Market Research Report
The vegconomist shares about our new report, “A Cheese Revolution,” discussing the study with use here at AMC Global and alt-dairy startup New Culture. They share how the insights uncovered reveal strong interest in animal-free mozzarella cheese across diverse consumer groups, including omnivores, flexitarians, and vegans.
Perishable News covers the report release as well, stating that our study indicates a growing openness to animal-free dairy products, with research showing 80% of interested consumers are actually omnivores! The study found that 4 in 5 consumers are willing to buy this alternative cheese, with early adopters showing a 97% purchase intent. The findings highlight the increasing market potential for animal-free dairy products that closely match traditional taste and texture. New Culture's animal-free mozzarella replicates traditional cheese qualities using precision fermentation, and some other publications take a closer look.
Taking a Look at the Cheese
Interest in New Culture’s product by the press goes beyond the release of the new report though—with The Plant Based magazine digging into the science behind the cheese. The article, “Putting melty, stretchy cheese alternatives on the menu,” talks about how traditional dairy-based cheeses owe their meltability and stretchability to casein, a key protein found in milk. However, plant-based cheeses often lack casein, resulting in a different texture and melting behavior. New Culture is one of the start-ups out there successfully exploring innovative approaches, such as precision fermentation, to produce casein without using cow's milk. As a result, New Culture has been able to create a meltable, stretchable non-dairy cheese. AMC Global has had a ton of fun working on this new, innovative product! The National Post also talks about how companies like New Culture use microbes instead of animals to create dairy-like proteins and fats for cheeses that mimic traditional ones. The article also shares how New Culture's animal-free mozzarella will be served this year at Pizzeria Mozza in Los Angeles!
Product Launch Success
It has been a blast to help New Culture launch their unique animal-free cheese. Launching a new product is complicated! But even when you do a small scale study, you can take the insights and utilize them thoroughly like New Culture is doing for strategic pathways to success. If you want to learn more about how this worked, we hope you can join us at IIEX NA in April!
